The IML is located in Tillett 119. In addition to our scheduled times, you have
access to the lab whenever the room is free. It is to your advantage to time
your use of the lab to avoid classes (consult the lab
schedule for details).
You will be using the SAS statistical package to access the General Social Survey (GSS). The GSS is a representative sample of the U.S. population in 1998 (2832 people were surveyed). You will access the GSS website for several of your assignments, including Assignment 1 and through to the final project. Later in the semester you will use this website to search for relevant articles and books using the variables you have chosen from the GSS.
